On 14 May 2025, Tạp chí Dinh dưỡng và Thực phẩm (Vietnam Journal of Nutrition and Food), volume 21, issue 3, published a comprehensive in vitro assessment of the safety of the probiotic strain Bacillus subtilis Eramic 25. The authors are Đoàn Thị Thùy Linh, Đào Gia Bách, Lưu Thị Thủy Ngân, Ngô Bá Bình, Hoàng Thị Thanh Hoa, Nguyễn Vũ Trung and Lê Thị Hội.
The study assessed the strain against the Generally Recognised as Safe (GRAS) criteria of the United States Food and Drug Administration and the guidance of the European Food Safety Authority. Eramic 25 showed no cytotoxicity in the Vero and HT-29 cell lines and carried no toxin or haemolysin genes, and its antibiotic resistance genes were not located on plasmids or mobile genetic elements.
