Binh Ba Ngo

Founder and Owner, Inogen Pty Ltd

Twenty-six years building diagnostics companies. Two sold to listed global groups. Now developing Australian-branded diagnostic kits in Queensland.

Binh Ba Ngo is a serial entrepreneur in molecular diagnostics, a field where scientific, regulatory and clinical barriers meet. He has co-founded eight companies. Two were acquired by listed global groups, Gentis by Eurofins Scientific and Biomedic by DKSH, and in both cases he was retained through and beyond completion. Acquirers rarely keep founders.

His method is repeatable. He identifies a diagnostic capability proven internationally but missing from the local market, then builds everything it needs to become standard practice: the technology, regulatory approval, laboratory, team and an economic model the health system can sustain. Five categories of medical testing became routine in Vietnam's leading hospitals this way.

He combines three capabilities that rarely sit in one person: scientific direction as a molecular biologist, full profit and loss responsibility at group scale, and personal leadership of both company sales. Through Inogen, he is moving product development, testing and certification to Australia, creating Australian-branded kits priced below imports and built for international markets.

SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Built Gentis into Vietnam's largest genetic testing group, an eleven-branch national network, sold to Eurofins Scientific in 2025.
  • Lifted the Gentis sale value by fifty per cent before completion, with no new capital and no dilution to the founders.
  • Led Biomedic as Chief Executive through its acquisition by Swiss-listed DKSH, and continues to lead it after the sale.
  • Created five testing categories now standard in leading hospitals: prenatal screening, embryo testing for IVF, inherited cancer risk, gene testing to guide cancer treatment and forensic DNA identification.
  • Directed research that discovered two new probiotic strains, published in peer-reviewed journals.
